This is our last night in Ketchikan—at least for this summer. We had an easy cruise from Meyers Chuck this morning. We were fortunate enough to purchase two of Casey’s famous cinnamon buns this morning before we left. The other boat on the lock captained by Marc who was on the 70 foot Marlow had ordered the buns the day before. The original plan was to buy two from Marc but it ended up that she had extras so we bought them directly from her.

This afternoon we went for a walk around town then came back to do a load of wash on our boat, “read the tea leaves” as we like to call (meaning finalize our float plan for the next day), and then prepare for the big crossing: Dixon Entrance on Saturday. Both Predict Wind and Buoy Weather are predicting calm seas with mild sea chop. Our float plan specialist, Chris Parker will send us his final report on Saturday for our review and use. If all looks good, then Saturday will be the cruise from Pond Bay (where we will go tomorrow) to Prince Rupert. Once in Prince Rupert we will report in to Canadian Customs.
We are going for fish and chips at the Fish House Restaurant tonight Good food, nice atmosphere, good beer on tap, and a great view of the harbor. Then early out tomorrow.
